September 2026

Work has continued on Scouts | Terrain to address user-reported issues and continue to evolve the platform. Updates released in September include:

Achievement Pathways improvements

These changes begin to bring Scouts | Terrain in line with the Achievement Pathways improvements.

Milestones

  • Assists have been removed from Milestones. Assists already recorded now count as leads, and new assists can no longer be recorded.
  • Milestone requirements have been updated. Each Milestone now needs:
    • Milestone 1: 6 participates in each Challenge Area and 2 leads
    • Milestone 2: 5 participates in each Challenge Area and 4 leads
    • Milestone 3: 4 participates in each Challenge Area and 6 leads
Leads can come from any Challenge Area.
  • Milestones in progress have been checked against the new requirements. Where a member has more credits than a stage now needs, the extra credits and their review comments have been moved to the next stage where possible. Where a member already meets the new requirements, their Milestone is ready for review.
  • Event creation, baselining, Record Achievements and the Milestone and Peak Award overviews have all been updated to show these changes.

Outdoor Adventure Skills and Peak Awards

  • OAS Stages 7, 8 and 9 now each count as two progressions towards Peak Awards.
  • Each stream tile on the Outdoor Adventure Skills overview page shows two stage numbers: the stage a member is working on and the highest stage they have completed. The tiles have been updated to make clear which number is which.

Members / Units / Patrols

  • Deleting a Patrol now archives it instead, so past events that include that Patrol are kept intact.
  • Un-skipping a Milestone now also works for stages that were skipped during baselining.
  • Links to external documents from Introduction to Scouting have been fixed.
